Welcome to the Mount Zion Baptist Church, a place where everybody is somebody, a place where you feel at home. We are grateful to have you visit our webpage and pray that you are encouraged through what you see and hear to visit us in person. Our church, we pray, is a place where you will connect with Christlike people and find strength to navigate the many trials and tribulations we sometimes face. Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us to “think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially not that the day of His return is drawing near.” Come and be strengthened in your Christian walk as we seek to strengthen one another. It is our prayer that you will feel welcome and stay awhile.
Scripture declares, “To whom much is given, much is required, and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask more” (Luke 12:48). As your Pastor, I have been given a charge by God, to assist Him in preparing you for Greater. I am truly humbled that He inspired you to choose me to lead you to the next level. In my calling from God, He reminded me of Hosea 4:6; where he said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. God has anointed me and gifted me to equip His people with knowledge and understanding. So that they can fight the good fight of faith in these last days. God’s vision for me and the Mount Zion Church family is:
- To preach and teach God’s word in such a way that the hearers will have a valid opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and become responsible members of His church. The challenge will be compelling those who have been away to return. But I believe through God’s guidance and our patience, and much prayer, the Holy Spirit will lead them back.
- To help the church grow to its capacity, even with an overflow. To affect the communities about the church, through missionaries and evangelism, compelling them to come from the utter most parts of Blythewood and Columbia.
- To help to bring the church back to its glorious state. Adding to the edifice of the Church a restroom up front and technology booth, to reach the sick and shut in and others around the world. Enhancing the mighty move of God at Mount Zion.
- To establish a children’s church and youth programs, that would allow the teens to be more engaged in the church worship and fulfill God’s Word in Proverbs 22:6.
- Develop and implement study programs for youth, men, and women. Programs separate of the Sunday School and Bible study we currently have. To introduce programs that will accentuate Christian values and help train our young adults to eventually become future leaders of the church.
God is still speaking, and we know that there will be much required of each of us. But with your help all that I have mention we can do and more. For “we can do all things through Christ Jesus, who will strengthen us” (Philippians 4:13). So, as we prepare to take this journey, help me to accomplish the vision that God has given unto me. Thank you.
